As we are all looking forward to summer, it seems a good time to remind everyone about keeping a sharp eye for skin lesions that could be one of the skin cancers. We all know that Melanoma is serious, but the other forms of skin cancer can be very troublesome as well. As Plastic Surgeons, we see the vast majority of skin cancers in NZ that require surgical treatment. You will be glad to know that there are also some topical treatments for skin cancers that are relatively superficial. If you do have any concerns at all about spots or skin lesions, please let us know …it is truly better to be “safe than sorry”!
